Sitting at night in a cafe in New York City a few months before the Covid-19 virus outbreak, I stared out the window at the kaleidoscope of people, automobiles, and buildings all colliding together in an amazing, diverse mosaic of reflected energy. That, to me, is New York City: endlessly changing, infinitely fascinating, visually stimulating—the greatest city on earth, where everything happens at once. Who knew, at the time, that this would all end a few months later.
